Finished reading this. Thanks, ebook reader, I’m catching up on my reading goals.

Anyway, I really have no idea that David Sedaris is a humorist. I would have read all his books I’ve seen when I was in college. I mean, if the title of one of your books is Me Talk Pretty One Day, I would assume it’s along the likes of Are You There God, It’s Me, Margaret or something like Flowers for Algernon. Good thing I accidentally downloaded an ebook of this.

I learned a lesson that I really shouldn’t have judged books by their titles. I could go on and tell you to about what I thought re Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim but I think you already got my point.

Off topic, I remember buying two Robert Fulghum books (All I Need to Know I Learned In Kindergarten and It Was On Fire When I Lay Down On It). Where are they now? T_T

The flavors of vitamin boost water. So far, my favorite is strawberry-kiwi because it doesn’t have a weird aftertaste. I still love Gatorade, but lately, the Blue Bolt flavor (which is my favorite), causes hyper acidity.

Also a reason why I’m drinking these instead of Gatorade is because I like the witty remarks on the label. Examples:

One day, I’ll learn and hope to finish making this one! It’s called Twinboat Isocahedron. I’m so happy that I’m making more complicated models. I was thinking of making this one next week, however, I have to make first a spiky cuboctadedron to match the other roundish kusudamas I made (the starsea and cherry blossom ball).

Anyway, since I discovered making the original kusuduma, I thought that the other models are out of my league.

I thought I would already become satisfied once I’m able to make a radianta-30 (I tried the 60-unit and 90-unit, and they’re really trying my patience). However, once done, I then moved on to sonobes (the sunken, the stellated and the stellated truncated icosahedrons, the brick game units). Then I went on to finish a great stellated truncated dodecahedron. I already mentioned as well the starsea and the cherry blossom ball.

I can’t say I was able to make everything I want to do. I remembered I said I’ll make sparaxis and victoria kusudamas, but I wasn’t able to. Maybe because I got very busy during that time. They are still on the to-do list, so there’s still a chance I’ll make them.

There are also those that I was able to successfully make but went to the trash bin because I don’t like how they turned out. Merengue, for instance, looks very nice but gets easily squished. Helica, on the hand, looks messy once petals were opened. At least, I can cross them off the kusudama to-do list. :)

Finished reading this sometime ago on an ebook reader. If I have a copy of this, I definitely would lend it to someone. I already shared some of Anthony’s adventures to my team mate, which means that I really liked it. Or should I say, I like it that much that I would like other people to like it.

Anyway, I’m surprised that people are surprised that I read books like this. They think that I’m very much into fiction. Maybe they haven’t seen me read Bob Ong, Robert Fulghum and David Sedaris.

I tried some cha soba earlier today for breakfast. I bought mine at the Family Mart in Ayala MRT Station for P95. It’s green tea soba noodles with cold tea as soup base. Not for everyone, specially people who don’t like green tea or their noodles cold. I like it but I felt like I should bought something more filling. Maybe I should have bought also the sushi platter (contains tamago, shrimp, tuna/salmon)/ california maki or one of the onigiri there (furikake/ tuna and nori). I like the ambiance of this convenience store. It sure has more expensive items, but I think it’s justifiable given that the taste is similar to those I tried in restaurants.

I googled FamilyMart and I’m surprised that it’s actually a big convenience store chain in Japan and other countries. I read on someone’s blog na meron din pala nito sa Glorietta 3.

I went to Parvati last Wednesday and bought these dainty Russian cookies. They don’t look like cookies to me, they look for like artisan chocolates. They were so delicious and crumbly; although they look different from traditional Russian tea cookies I know of.

*** I Googled further about these Russian cookies made by the Russian Cookie House. I found out that the 6-pc sampler I bought only has the Black Russians (chocolate cookie covered with bittersweet chocolate with walnut center and chocolate sprinkles outside—- not on the picture), Black Almond cookie (top) and White Almond cookie (bottom). It was the 20-pc gift box that has the traditional Russian cookies as well as Pistachio cookies.

It’s the first time I read a book from Sidney Sheldon. It’s kinda like Erich Segal lite.

Why it’s my first time reading a book from a well-known author? Well, my classmates from high school were so fussing about his books, I thought they were about romantic shiz written by Julie Garwood. Mind you, I now read those kind of books, but way back in high school, I wouldn’t be caught dead reading one. I was the Robert Ludlum and John Grisham kid before. I also thought that Sidney Sheldon was a female.

(I’m obviously a person not jumping easily to bandwagons. Yeah, yeah, I’m a hipster, Adrian. *rolls eyes*)

Anyway, I think I’ll read other books by him, but I’m currently reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I watched the movie and read the other two books, but I realized I haven’t read it yet.

Update (May 23, 2013): I successfully finished one!!! :) Not as hard as it seems, just tedious because I have to make 30 modules. I made it using green 3.75” x 3.75” paper so that it would match with my yellow green starsea kusudama (made using 4” x 4” paper). I’m surprised that even though I used a smaller paper, it came out so big!

While rereading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, I got to a part where saltwater taffy was mentioned. Then I remembered that in Mitch Albom’s The Five People You Meet In Heaven, Eddie (Maintenance) and his wife eat saltwater taffy when they were dating or on their anniversaries.

So I got curious and googled it. I want to try this but since I’m in the Philippines, I don’t know if candy shops here sell some. Sometimes, even Andes chocolates are hard to find. :(

Finished reading this just a few hours ago. The tear-jerking part I’m expecting to be there was over, and yeah, I was full of tears. I haven’t expected that to happen with Augustus Waters. I’m not into my spoiler mood, so just read it.

I am now reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Just a few 10 pages yet. First is impression is that I can’t help but compare the style of John Green and I like John Green’s more. Not a fan of epistolary novels, I guess. I still might change my mind.

Just finished reading An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. Nice but not tear-jerking and very predictable compared to Looking for Alaska. I guess it’s very rare for me to love the second book I read of the author that got me following his/her work in the first place.

Exception to the rule was Haruki Murakami. The first book of his I read was Kafka on the Shore but my favorite was Dance Dance Dance (or was it Norwegian Wood, shiz I can’t decide).

Anyway, going back to John Green books, I am now reading The Fault in our Stars. It’s about cancer-stricken teenagers, but so far, still haven’t tugged my heartstrings. We’ll see.

Now almost halfway the third book, The Serpent’s Shadow.

That is the last book for the Kane Chronicles, and I’m thinking that maybe Rick Riordan didn’t want to be so predictable he’ll have five volumes for this like the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (I know that the Heroes of Olympus series has only three installments yet, but I heard that the fourth book, House of Hades, will be released this October 2013).

Or I guess it’s way more difficult to write a book based on Egyptian mythology. I mean, the Heroes of Olympus is way easier to write because it includes a rehash of the adventures of Odysseus and Hercules. Just an opinion, guys. :)

About this series, you know I don’t do good reviews. I’d say that it’s very Rick Riordan. heehee.

Erratum: Maybe due to lack of sleep, I switched the second and the third book on my mind. Thanks to the person who pointed it out. :)
